A gathering of current and former Westwood Church musicians, honoring the legacy and commitment to church music and the composers who created it.
On Sunday, November 10, 2019, nationally known composers Michael Burkhardt and Ralph Johnson will join current Westwood musicians to celebrate 75 years of music, liturgy, and community in an anniversary concert. A special tribute will honor the 37-year legacy of Ronald A. (Ronnie) Nelson, Westwood’s longtime Director of Music. The afternoon includes a 30 minute organ prelude, the world premiere of Good Courage, a piece by Ralph Johnson based on The Prayer of Good Courage and will conclude with Widor’s Toccata from Symphony for Organ No. 5, performed by Westwood’s Director of Music Ministries Andrew Paulson.
