Church musicians register using the form linked below. Choir member registration is located on the separate form. You may register up to 10 choir members at a time. You may print a physical registration form and bring it and payment with you to the event.

Hearts • Hands • Voices Workshop

Choir directors and organists, bring your choir members for demonstrations of how they would be prepared for singing. Organists will be able to attend a session on using improvisation in service playing. Attendees will also be able to peruse offerings for sale from MorningStar Music Publishers.

Presenter Bios

Dr. Chris Sheppard is the chair of the music department and Director of Choral Activities at Newberry College, Newberry, SC. Dr. Sheppard conducts the choirs and teaches conducting and private voice. He also assists with musical productions at the college and with Newberry Community Players. In Spring 2018, Dr. Sheppard was awarded the College’s Carter Professorship Award for selfless giving and service.

Dr. Al Roberts is Director of Music and Organist at St. David Lutheran in West Columbia, SC. His hymn arrangements are used for worship, and his compositions for organ, piano, choir, and instruments have been published by Augsburg Fortress and Shawnee Press. Dr. Roberts is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Music.
