JOB TITLE: Organist/Accompanist
Reports To: Director of Music and Worship
Date: December 29,2018
This position is primarily responsible for leading worship from the organ at the 9:00am traditional worship service. Collaborate with other church musicians in the presentation and preparation of the music ministry by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides music leadership for one Saturday service at 5pm and 1 Sunday service at 9 am.
This includes Lutheran Liturgy, hymns and all other service music as requested.
Accompanies Adult Choir at weekly rehearsals (Wednesday’s at 7:15 to 8:45 pm) and on Sunday mornings when choir is scheduled, as well as other rehearsals as requested and needed. Accompanies children’s choir when requested.
Provides feedback to the Director of Music Ministry related to congregational input concerning the music ministry of the church.
Secures substitute Organist/pianist to fulfill duties when needed.
Supervises the maintenance of the church organ and pianos.
When requested, accompanies children’s choirs, vocal or instrumental solos, and other special in Sunday worship service.
Provide music for Ash Wednesday and Wednesday evening 7 pm Lenten services, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve (2 services) and for special services as planned and requested.
Provides music for weddings, funerals, and other special events as requested.
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
No Computer Skills Required.
