Congratulations to Susan Gobien on her retirement after 40 years of service at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria, VA. The congregation surprised Susan at the worship service on Sunday, March 13, to recognize and give thanks to God for her service. This coincided with Susan’s actual start date in 1982 and served as preparation for a larger celebration next month.
Susan’s last Sunday as Director of Music will be Easter Sunday, April 17. In the week after Easter, the congregation is cordially invited to a Garden Party on Saturday, April 23 from 5-7 PM on the west side of our church campus. This event will celebrate Susan’s many years of dedication to the ministry of music at St. John’s. Members, friends, former choir members, and fellow musicians are being invited to this celebrative outdoor event.
