In profound gratitude to God for 85 years of life, grace, and good health, founding ALCM member Dr. Karl E. Moyer, F.A.G.O., will present a birthday recital on 16 June 2022, at 7 p.m. Given the large romantic works by Widor (Symph. 6, 1st mov’t), César Franck (Choral in E), and Duruflé (Variations on “Veni Creator Spiritus”), he’ll play the program at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Lancaster PA, site of the best combination of organ tone and building acoustics for such music in Lancaster County. Also included: Sonata 1 and the Fantasy & Fugue in G minor, BWV 524, by Bach, and short works by Manz, Brahms, and others.
Dr. Moyer has composed descants to be sung by sopranos and tenors as the congregation joins in “Alleluia! Sing to Jesus” and “Now Thank We All Our God.” An early arrival is recommended for best seating at the front of the nave.
