Amanda Husberg (1940 – February 15, 2021), graduated with a B.S. from Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska before making her home in Brooklyn, NY. At Concordia she majored in organ, studying with Jan Bender. Her M.S. in Early Childhood Education was from Hunter College, in New York City. She served as Director of Music at St. John the Evangelist Lutheran Church, an inner-city, multi-cultural church in north Brooklyn, for over 40 years. She has over 200 hymns published in various hymnals and supplements in the U.S., Canada, and Brazil. Concordia Publishing House is the publisher of her requiem, “A Feast Prepared.”
