Nancy Jane Fouse, mother of ALCM past-president Kevin Barger, died on November 21, 2024 at the age of 75. Nancy was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area and was a 1967 graduate of Kiski Area High School. She worked many years in retail accounting at Kinema, Inc. and Giant Eagle and retired in 2016. She was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church, Richmond, VA where she frequently helped with Vacation Bible School, prayer shawl ministry, altar care, and was a member of Margaret Miller Women’s Circle. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was proud of her grandsons’ performances, both on and off stage.
She was predeceased by her parents Alice and William Paul Townsend. She is survived by her son, Kevin Barger (Beth); her daughter Kimberly Shaw (Butch); her brother William E. Townsend (Marjorie); grandchildren Matthew (Jordan), Turner (Kate), Jake (Dina), Zachary, Kierstin, Elijah, Kaitlyn; two great grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1400 Horsepen Road, Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Epiphany Lutheran Church Choral Scholars program.
