John Ferguson’s son Christopher reports: Sadly, my father suffered a pretty serious fall this past June, which resulted in him being hospitalized and then undergoing a month’s worth of rehabilitation. For reasons we still don’t fully understand, the fall greatly worsened some memory issues he had begun to develop and also created some dementia, and while some of this improved as he regained his strength, he has continued to have enough issues that his caregivers were not comfortable releasing him into an independent living environment. Thus, last week my family moved him into the Memory Care Unit at the Benedictine Living Community in Northfield, MN. He is in goods spirits, and is slowly settling in to his new surroundings. He does not have internet access in Memory Care for safety reasons.
