The following resources are offered to you during this unique time in ministering to God’s people. These resources are not intended to be comprehensive, nor are they a “one size fits all” solution. Instead, this page is intended to be a gathering place for various resources related to worship and music during a time when abnormal has become the norm. As we learn of additional writings and resources, they will be added to this page, so check back often. New!  “Care-filled Worship and Sacramental Life in a Lingering Pandemic” is a comprehensive update from the consultation on Ecumenical Protocols for Worship, Fellowship, and Sacramental Practices. Incorporating the latest CDC guidance, this update informs decision-making and basic practices of Christian worship and congregational life.

June webinar series: Accompanying the Dead and Dying in the Time of COVID – a four-part webinar series presented by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, June 21, 24, 28, and July 1. The series will be archived online for later viewing at ism.yale.edu/CovidWebinarSeries.

The Summer 2020 issue of CrossAccent is devoted to issues related to the pandemic. Fourteen contributors—musicians, pastors, scholars, theologians, and a physician—have provided wisdom, experience, advice, and encouragement for these uncertain and challenging times.
“Worship Solutions that Respond to COVID-19 Challenges.”  This Hearts * Hands * Voices online event is now available on ALCM’s YouTube channel. Geared toward small/medium-sized churches, Mark Johanson from Christ Lutheran Church–Christ Providence in Charlotte, North Carolina, and other colleagues have prepared a series of videos that offer “Worship Solutions that Respond to COVID-19 Challenges.”

Recorded Webinar: How to Create a Virtual Choir Anthem

Recorded discussion of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Discussion was led by Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, conductor of the Viking Chorus and Chapel Choir at St. Olaf College.

Facebook discussions: Both the ALCM Group and Lutheran Musicians Group have had discussions on a variety of issues related to worship and music during the time of the pandemic.
