Helpful sessions for church musicians presented by

Mark Glaeser

Session Descriptions

Is That In There? – What are some of the hidden musical gems in ELW (Evangelical Lutheran Worship) and ACS (All Creation Sings)? We will also look at some music outside our traditional Lutheran sources.

The Paperless Musician: Transitioning From Sheet Music To Tablet – How do you go about playing (and collecting and editing) music from an electronic device?  What are the advantages and disadvantages?  And, how do you keep up with page turns?!

Volunteers: Finding and Keeping – We all need volunteers in our ministries to keep things running and getting things done. Where do you look for volunteers and how do you keep them feeling valued and appreciated?

Choral Reading Session – The packet of music is a generous gift from MorningStar Music, which will also provide organ music for purchase. (CREDIT CARD OR CHARGE TO CHURCH ONLY)

Presenter Information

Mark Glaeser has successfully flunked retirement and now serves Covenant Presbyterian in Charlotte, NC, (part time) after serving Christ Lutheran Church, also in Charlotte, for 32 years. He developed CLC’s ministry from three choirs to over twenty-two ensembles (including dance and the arts), and from solely traditional worship forms to the inclusion of contemporary (including cameras, screens, sound and video personnel). Mark is also a Registered Music Therapist and is fascinated with all things psychological and anything with a keyboard. He has served the ELCA on the committees to publish With One Voice, Worship and Praise Songbook, Renewing Worship Songbook, and ELW. Mark has been on the bench leading worship since age nine and wouldn’t know what to do with himself if he got pushed off! Mark lives in southeast Charlotte with his wife, Gwen.

MorningStar Music Publishers Display & Choral Reading Session: Attendees will also be able to peruse offerings for sale from MorningStar Music Publishers and place orders for choral and organ music. CREDIT CARDS AND CHARGE ORDERS ONLY.
